I should probably start by saying that I’m very particular about the things I bring into my home, especially when they’re going to be part of my everyday routine.
I care about the little details more than most people probably do. how something looks in the room, how it feels, whether it’s too loud, too harsh, too bulky… I notice all of it. so choosing a massage chair took me a while.
the pink Ayla was actually one of the first things that caught my attention. I really didn’t want a massage chair that made the room feel clinical or overly masculine. I wanted something softer and more elegant, and the pink was exactly that for me. it’s feminine without looking childish, and in person it fits into the room much better than I expected.
I’m also someone who takes my wellness routine pretty seriously. I get massages regularly, I’m very consistent with skincare and self-care, and I really value having a little quiet time at the end of the day. because of that, I’m quite sensitive to pressure and I know very quickly when something doesn’t feel right.
the leg compression was actually a little too strong for me at first. I had to turn it down almost immediately. I know some people probably love stronger pressure, but I’m definitely not one of them. once I adjusted it though, it became much more comfortable.
I’m the same way with the shoulder massage. if the rollers are even slightly too high or too low, I notice it. the body scan usually does a good job, but I still make small adjustments sometimes because I’m honestly very picky about that kind of thing.
after I found the settings that worked for me, I started enjoying the chair a lot more.
my favorite way to use it is in the evening after I’ve showered and finished my skincare. I usually turn on the heat, recline into zero gravity and use one of the gentler programs. it’s become a really nice part of my routine and probably the time of day when I actually slow down.
I still don’t use the strongest settings, and I do wish the body scan was perfect every single time. those would probably be my two small complaints.
but overall, I’m very happy with Ayla. if you’re someone who is sensitive to pressure, cares about how things look in your home and wants something that feels a little more refined than the typical massage chair, I think you’ll understand why I liked this one.
