Nutrition and Health Evaluation
A Nutrition and Health Evaluation is a natural non-invasive method of assessing an individuals health and well being, with the ultimate goal of getting to the root problem of an individuals health concern. Naturopathic suggestions such as diet, herbs, homeopathics, supplements, exercise and body work are incorporated to help individuals feel better, live better and reach their health goals. Forms of assessment used during a nutrition and health evaluation include:
- pH Testing
- Muscle Testing
Maintaining a proper pH balance very important. It’s so important, that your body will sometimes leech calcium from your bones and steal magnesium from your muscles in order to restore its proper pH balance. In order for vitamins and minerals to be used and for chemical reactions using enzymes to take place, our body must remain at a balanced pH.
Our modern diets tend to be very acidic, full of animal products and processed foods, while the alkaline foods such as fruits and vegetables often get overlooked. As a result pH imbalances are very common, leading many of us to overly acidic body conditions. Some of the first symptoms of being overly acidic are feeling tired and fatigued no matter the time or day.
Other problems resulting from an imbalanced pH include:
- Muscle and Joint Pain
- Cardiovascular Problems
- Hormone Problems
- Weak Immune System
Muscle testing is a part of the the field of applied kinesiology, a branch of physiology that studies the mechanics and anatomy of human movement. Muscle testing is a noninvasive way of evaluating the body’s imbalances and assessing any of its needs. It involves testing the body’s responses when applying slight pressure to a muscle, to provide information on energy blockages, the functioning of the organs, nutritional deficiencies, and food sensitivities. It can also be used to test the body’s response to herbs and other natural remedies.
